New Hospice Shop

New Hospice ShopRuth Mott and Wendy Burden, shop manager’s of Hospice shop 2 have been very active in securing our replacement Hospice Shop, which will be much brighter and airier than the shop we are leaving, it is very near the existing shop, in fact just next door but will be visible from the Church!

They have been supervising our volunteers to ensure the shop opens by month end. Many thanks to all who have offered to assist, but particular thanks to Dave White who has been doing the electrical work, and to Chris Delaney and Dave Timperly who have spent many days painting the premises, as the attached picture shows, it is very hot work in the current humid conditions, but much appreciated by us all.

St Michael's Hospice Progress in September

The good news on the hospice continues. The work on the patio areas continues apace, the putting in of the doors is in hand. There have been meetings on the lift and kitchens with contractors. We are beginning to look at beds, furniture etc. So keep up the good work.

Please bring collection boxes next week for Philip to collect. If you want a box for your small change or to go on a local restaurant or bar counter please contact Philip. Lots happening at shop 2, call in to find out.

Christo Rex Parish Pilgrimage

Christo Rex ParishWe welcomed 23 members of Christo Rex Parish, Northern Italy, who celebrated mass in the Presbytery Garden due to the unavailability of the Church, there Parish Priest conducted the mass which was followed by a presentation on the Hospice. The group very generously donated EUR140 to the 400 countdown campaign, along with the promise of future prayers for our success, we are very grateful
