We welcomed a small group of Pilgrims from the Diocese of Namur, Belgium who were accompanied by Father Maurice Leonard, on hearing about the Hospice the group they very kindly donated EUR125.
Many thanks and merry Christmas to them all
Michael Bear who has been helping us raise money for the St Michael’s Hospice for some months now has had a bright idea. Fur coat or not he is beginning to feel the chill of winter and has decided to head for warmer climes, Antipodean climes to be exact!
Michael Bear is going walkabout and heading for Australia to visit his cousin Bruce the Koala, soak up some sun and do some sight seeing. You can follow his travels and help the Hospice appeal by Sponsoring him on his journey.
Michael has his own page on the website where you can find out more and follow his journey! (HERE)
LG. Zambartas LLC, Law Offices of Limassol celebrated the 1st anniversary of the opening of their Paphos office last night with a celebratory dinner. Jeanette Truscott the senior lawyer at the Paphos office approached the parish with an offer to use the dinner to help promote the St Michael’s Hospice, an offer that was speedily and gratefully accepted.
It turned out to be a marvellous night at the Classic Restaurant in Kato Paphos, with good food, delightful music and very good company. Fr. Carlos, Fr. Jim and Cameron were there to promote the Hospice and give the presentation and as it turned out to sell more than a few Michael bears! There was also a raffle with some great prizes in aid of the hospice.
We are very grateful to Louise & George Zambartas & Jeanette Truscott for their support and giving us the opportunity to promote the hospice outside of the normal confines of the parish. Everyone there was very generous and the dinner raised EUR695.94 for the 400 Countdown Campaign.
Once again the annual parish Christmas party was a great success. The event at the Alexander the Great Hotel was well supported and we had a great night of good entertainment and food. All in a good cause.
For those that were unable to make it, here are some images of the event.
