Vienna Pilgrims

We were delighted to recieve a group of Pilgrims today from Vienna accompanied by 2 Parish Priests. Once again Mass was in the Presbytery grounds as the church is still closed whilst new walkways are under construction.

The group very kindly donated €133 to the Hospice following a short presentation after Mass.

Austrian & German Pilgrims

On Tuesday we welcomed 2 pilgrimage groups, the first was from Germany, near the Swiss border, accompanied by Fr. Andrew the second group was from Graz in Austria, accompanied by Fr. Christian, this group included many serving and retired military personel. As the church was closed while new walkways are under construction, the site was visited and the groups celebrated mass in the new Presbytery pergola.

Following an introduction and talk by Fr. Jim, and a talk on our work with the Hospice, the groups very kindly donated €189 and €282 respectively, for which we are very grateful.

Welcome Fr. Reynaldo Anzulovich

We are delighted to welcome Fr. Reynaldo to the Parish, he will be with us for the next few months whilst he improves his grasp and skills of the English language.

Fr Reynaldo is a Monk (contemplative Priest) who hails from Argentina and is a member of the same order as Fr. Carlos and Fr. Miguel. As you are no doubt aware the order is the Institute of the Incarnate Word. (IVI)

Fr Reynaldo has travelled and worked as a missionary in many places including Argentina, Peru, Italy, Spain and Brazil. So he brings with him a great deal of skills and experience which will be of great benefit to us all

His next assignment will be in Jordan, where he will assist in the opening of the Shrine “The Baptism of Jesus” in the new Monastery currently being completed there. The site is where our Lord was baptised: “This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing” (John 1, 28).

On behalf of Fr. Carlos we extend a warm welcome to Fr. Reynaldo, and hope he has a productive and enjoyable stay in our beautiful Island.

Polish and Italian Pilgrims

Yesterday Fr Jim welcomed 2 groups of pilgrims, the first was from Warsaw, 9 Parish priests and parishioners (the singing was wonderful) and the second group was 2 Parish priests from Rome accompanied by 16 parishioners. Following Mass and a few words from Fr Jim, a presentation on the Hospice was delivered, the groups then kindly donated €150 and €75 respectively.

We are extremely grateful.

Parish Table Top Sale

Saturdays table top sale at the Latin Parish Hall has raised at least €2,500 for the Hospice. It was organised and run with great efficiency by Brenda Backhouse and with the favourable weather on our side we had a very good turnout.

Many thanks to everyone who volunteer to make the event the success it was.
