First Communions in Corpus Christi

We give thanks to God because last Sunday, Corpus Christi, we had two wonderful things to celebrate: first the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ followed by the procession outside the church; and second, the first Communion of three of our young ladies in the parish: Jasmitha, Giorgia and Lucy.

Let us rejoice always in Our Lord who is really present among us in this wondrous Mystery of the Holy Eucharist!

Roc-Estello Pilgrims

We were privileged to welcome Fr. Pierre Dumoulin from Roc-Estello, near Marseille, and a small group of parishioners. One nice thing about the pilgrimages is hearing Mass in different languages, the singing was exquisite!

Following mass and words from Fr Jim, and some light hearted comments from Fr Dumoulin, we presented on the Hospice and the group donated an amazing sum of €293.

Thankyou to our French friends, Hope you enjoyed your visit to our lovely church.

The Feasts Our Lady of Lujan and Our Lady of Graces

Last Tuesday, May 8th, the priest of the island met together at Pafos. In the occasion they had the opportunity to feast two titles of Our Lady: the Virgin of Lujan, Patroness of the Institute of the Incarnate Word; and Our Lady of Graces, the Patroness for the parish in Larnaca.

The priests met in the morning to have the usual points of discussion to improve the work they do. Next they had the Solemn Mass of Our Lady of Lujan as the central point of the day; following the procession to honour the Virgin Mary. Finally, in a very fraternal manner, they shared the lunch and finishing it, some songs.

We thank Our Lord who gave us this day of meeting between us, to share our devotion to Our Lady, and in this way, to be closer to Jesus, the High Priest.

Stuttgart Pilgrims

We welcomed today Fr. Spinner and a group of pilgrims from Stuttgart and the surrounding areas. They took time to view the church and its environs, Fr. Spinner said mass, then Fr. Jim gave a presentation on the Parish and our activities. A presentation on our largest project, the Hospice, was delivered and the group kindly donated €134 towards its completion. We are very grateful.

UK Support

At the recent parish lunch there was a presentation of a cheque for €3500 to the Hospice Charity Board Chairman, David McKewan by John and Anne Kearns a result of recent UK fund raising.

We would like to thank all those in the UK for their continued support which is an important part of our fund raising efforts.
