1st Pilgrimage, Year of Faith

On Sunday 19th May we had our first pilgrimage on this Year of Faith, “On the footsteps of Saint Paul”. Being the first one, we were a lot, 90 people! Thanks be to God all enjoyed the pilgrimage that took us through two monasteries and a chapel, the Monastery of Our Lady Trooditissa, Patroness of Troodos, the chapel of Saint Michael Archangel in Pedulas, and the Monastery of Saint John Lampadistis in Kalopanagiotis.

In this last one, arriving we had the lunch, later we visit the place down in the river where Saint Paul and Saint Barnabas baptized Saint Heraclidios, a young boy from the region who led them to Paphos. Tradition says that in the second trip of Saint Barnabas to Cyprus, he ordained bishop Heraclidios, in Tamassos.

Our next pilgrimage (23rd of June) will be to Tamassos, where is the tomb of Saint Heraclidios. Also we will visit the tomb of Saint Lazarus in Larnaca.

Welcome to join the Parish on the pilgrimages in the Year of Faith!

Our Lady of Lujan Solemn Mass

Thanks be to God, on Monday 13th May, we had the Solemn Mass of Our Lady of Lujan as this year the 8th was in the Octave of Easter. Fr. Jim presided the Mass and Fr. Carlos and Fr. Miguel concelebrated. After the Mass all went outside the Church to do the procession with the Image of Our Lady, singing the Ave, ave… Praise be the Lord who gave us so wonderful a Mother!

Blessing of Mosaic of Our Lady of Lujan

On Wednesday 8th of May, the Feast of Our Lady of Lujan, we had a beautiful gathering to bless the mosaic the children made during the Saturdays they meet for the Oratory “John Paul II”. Were invited along with the parents many other parishioners who joined the celebration in a great and happy atmosphere. After the blessing we shared the subla to feast as it deserved. May Our Lady keep always her eyes and maternal hands upon our Parish and especially upon our children! You are all welcome to participate in the Solemn Mass of Our Lady of Lujan this Monday 13th at 12pm in Agia Kyriaki.

The same day Pope Francis honoured the Virgin of Lujan at Saint Peter Square, here his words and photo: “On this day which celebrates Our Lady of Lujan, heavenly Patroness of Argentina, give applause to the Virgin of Lujan … stronger, I cannot feel, more strongly. On this day of the Virgin of Lujan I wish to convey to all those dear children of that beloved territory of Argentina my sincere affection, while I lay in the hands of the Blessed Virgin all their joys and concerns. Thank you very much “.
