Pizza HutIf you eat at the Kato Paphos Pizza Hut on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of June, EUR1 from every Pizza sold will go to the St Michael’s Hospice via Phoenix Charity! This is to help furnish a room at the St Michael’s Hospice.

Christine Pope the manageress of the Kato Paphos Pizza Hut is a long time supporter of the St Michael’s Hospice, and we are very grateful of her continued support.

Elections. On May 22nd there are Parliamentary elections including the election of a Latin Community Representative. If you have the right to vote you should use it.. The Latin Community representative is extremely important to us so please make sure you vote on that day.

Bring and share. On Thursday May 26th from 6 – 9pm at the Latin Parish Hall there will be an evening when Fr. Carlos, will tell us about his Congregation and its work. It will be a ‘Bring and Share’ evening, bring some simple food to share. There is a list at the back of the Church to tell each other what we are bringing, please fill it in. The evening is free except for the drinks at the bar. Please do not bring drink, all drinks must be bought at the bar, including water!

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. 28th August – 7th Sept. Organised by Fr Umberto. Parish Coordinator: Willie Watkinson.99771537. You will find the prices on the leaflet. Please note the air fare is extra. The Pilgrimage lasts 11 days. The Pilgrimage is very good value and thoroughly recommended. The full itinerary can be seen on the Church notice board. For further information contact Willie on the above number. There is a list at the back of the Church. If you are interested please fill it in to give us a guide line on numbers. There is a deposit of 100 euros and the full amount must be paid by 1st August.

A simple Act of Contrition. A number of people have asked for an act of contrition for confession. There are many forms of this but here is a very simple one:

Oh my God, because you are so good, I am very sorry that I have sinned against you, and by your help I will not sin again. Amen.

There are confessions Saturday 5.15 – 5.50pm at Agia Kyriaki or during any Mass on Sunday at Agia Kyriaki. Whoever is saying Mass at Polis on Saturday evening or Pissouri on Sunday evening is available before Mass for confessions.

When coming to Mass if a Mass is in progress please wait above the bridge as, if there are people on the bridge it makes it difficult for people to get out especially disabled people. Would you also allow disabled people into the Church first. Please remember to keep quiet in church so as people can pray before Mass and also please obsereve the dress code by covering shoulders and ensuring you are respectably dressed. Thank you

AN EVENING WITH FR CARLOS

“RAISE THE ROOF’ Evening

We have had to carry out extensive repairs to the roof of the Latin Parish Hall and need to raise some money towards the 2,500 euro cost. So there will be a fund raising evening on Saturday 18th June. There will be a bank, “Mid Life Crisis”, and raffle. Tickets 10 euros including supper. For tickets or further information please contact either Brenda on 99804161 or Phil on 99819891 or in Hospice shops 2 &3 or the Parish Hall.

The Countdown 400 EUR10 a month scheme.

  • The new buy a symbolic key for EUR10 to help furniture and fittings etc.
  • Buying from Hospice shops.
  • Hospice coin boxes.
  • Sponsorship of Doors, windows, ceiling tiles.
  • Direct donation or cheque.
  • Through the St. Michaels Hospice Charity.
  • Buying an Angel broach.

You can also help by persuading friends to donate EUR10 a month by standing order (See Leaflet at back of the Church) or buying some symbolic keys or through sponsorship in memory of a loved one or to commemorate a birth or marriage anniversary. We will be publishing month an account of income and expenditure on the Hospice. It will be on the notice board in the Church and in the Hospice shops.
